In town they meet a pretty girl called Mok Dim Chi, who is captured by Ol Yeung Hak, after the beggar created some trouble. Kwok Jing decides to rescue to her, however the beggar only promised to help if Kwok Jing promised not to fall in love with the pretty girl. Meanwhile the rash Yeung Tit Sum, who is the foster farther of Mok Dim Chi, chases after them thinking that they captured his daughter. Once again the clever beggar thinks of a plan, and are able to rescue Mok Dim Chi. Ol Yeung Hak let them go after discovering that the beggar is, the top martial artist, Wong Yek Si's daughter. The beggar gets jealous and runs off after seeing that Kwok Jing treats Mok Dim Chi very well. While going to fetch some water to wash Mok Dim Chi's face, a young girl, in a boat calls out his name. Surprised Kwok Jing wanders over to the boat but does not recognize who the young girl is. The young girl, is about 16 years of age, dressed in clean light blue clothes. He ask the girl, "And you are?". She replied, "I'm like a friend of yours, I'll use all of your money, and eat lots". Kwok Jing puzzles over these clues, but before he could answer, the girl becomes shy and hides in the boat. Then he finally realized that this girl was the beggar who he had been travelling with. They then stroll down the beach together. Embarrassed that he did not know that the beggar was a girl, Kwok Jing asks for her name. In reply the girl tells Kwok Jing that her name is Wong Yung, and she lives in a beautiful place called To Fai Do. However her old man kicked her out after an argument. In an instant a happy partnership develops and they decide to go back to see how Mok Dim Chi is. At this time Yeung Tit Sum arrives at the old mill, and sees his foster daughter asleep. He thought that Kwok Jing had captured his daughter, and attacks him. Mok Dim Chi finally wakes up and clears the misunderstanding. Yeung Tit Sum then looks carefully at the young man, and realized he looked exactly like his sworn brother Kwok Siu Tin. He asks for the young man's name. However, Wong Yung, afraid that the old man might attempt to marry his daughter to Kwok Jing, replies that he has no name. On their journey to Kong Lam, to meet up with Kowk Jing's master's they run into, Yeung Tit Sum and Mok Dim Chi at a restaurant. They decide to travel with Kwok Jing, much to Wong Yung's disgust. Immediately Yeung Tit Sum tries to marry his foster daughter to Kwok Jing. However Kwok Jing refuses because he only loves Wong Yung. During this time Wong Yung sharpens a knife and attempts to kill Mok Dim Chi with it. At once Kwok Jing is upset and disappointed, Wong Yung runs off. The following day while wandering around town Mok Dim Chi stops to watch a wrestling match on the street. Meanwhile, Yeung Tit Sum is most disturbed, wondering how his wife could end up becoming the Queen of the country that he hated the most. Living with the people that killed his sworn brother Kwok Siu Tin. After another unsuccessful attempt to marry his foster daughter to Kwok Jing, Yeung Tit Sum gives up. They then decide on set a competition on the street, where the individual who could beat Mok Dim Chi would marry her. In other words a "marriage by contest". Mok Dim Chi secretly wished that Yeung Hong would enter. The next day whilst wandering around town Mok Dim Chi, runs into Yeung Hong and tells him about the contest. On the day of the contest, Yeung Hong enters and defeats Mok Dim Chi. However he has no intention of marrying her. Instead he keeps the shoe that he took from Mok Dim Chi, during the battle as a trophy, insults her and leaves. Yeung Tit Sum tries to stop Yeung Hong from leaving but is no match for him and is injured in the process. Kwok Jing also tries to stop Yeung Hong from leaving but is also no match for him. During this time another Chin Sun Gow, Taoist, Wong Chi Yun, stops Yeung Hong from injuring Kwok Jing. At once Wong Chi Yun asks who the young man is. Yeung Hong replies that he is a student of Yau Cheut Ky. Wong Chi Yin then realized that Yeung Hong is his elder classmate's student. In an attempt not to get into trouble Yeung Hong invites Wong Chi Yun and Kwok Jing to the palace, to take care of the marital arrangements. Upon arriving back at the palace, Yeung Hong, is told by Ol Yeung Hak, that Kwok Jing is the person that is farther, Yee Lan Hung Lit, wants to capture. They come up with a plan, and set a trap. He lets Pang Jai Ji live, to send a message back to Yee Lan Hung Lit. The intelligent Ol Yeung Hak knew what Yeung Hong was up to. He tells the prince Yee Lan Hung Lit, that Yeung Hong is leaving a trail for them to follow. With this knowledge, Yee Lan Hung Lit, personally sets out with his men to rescue Yeung Hong. Sure enough, Yeung Hong was leaving a trail of Gow Yum Bak Kut Chow, for Yee Lan Hung Lit to follow. At once Yeung Hong rushes to Yee Lan Hung Lit's side and calls him dad. Yee Lan Hung Lit then ordered his men to kill everyone in the church except for Pao Sik Yeung. Realizing that they are surrounded and that there is no escape, Yeung Tit Sum, walks forward and asks Yee Lan Hung Lit to leave the innocent alone and kills himself. Even when he dies Yeung Hong does not call him dad. Pao Sik Yeung, kills herself also upon seeing that her husband is dead. At once Yeung Hong rushes to her side. He then asks Wong Yung where they are going. In reply Wong Yung tells Kwok Jing that she wants to head back to Toa Fai Do. RATING - 9/10 The Legend of the Condor Heroes I - Tit Hit Dan Sum", has to be one of the best TVB Serial that I have seen. First the plot is very new and refreshing. This plot distinguishes itself from many kung fu stories. The plot of most kung fu story has the evil guy killing 99% of the cast, and is real powerful. Only the hero can defeat the evil guy in the end. However in this story the evil guys aren't really that powerful in terms of kung fu, and there is little meaningless killings. Jin Yong is a master of creating characters that are very realistic. For instance all the evil characters in "The Legend of the Condor Heroes", have some good in them which I like. The acting in this serial was top notch and will be hard to beat. To this day no one has portrayed Yeung Hong better than Miu Kiu Wai, who I think was the 1980's top actor. Wong Yat Wah did a stunning job as Kwok Jing, and his performance will be hard to top also. I'll say this now, no one will ever top the performance of Yung Mei Ling as Wong Yung. Yeung Pan Pan was brilliant as Mok Dim Chi. In the novel Mok Dim Chi is supposed to be the most beautiful girl in the story, and I think Yeung Pan Pan has been the most beautiful actor to play the role so far. To sum this TVB Serial had a brilliant cast and the acting will be very hard to top. The scenes and sets used for this TVB Serial was most appropriate. The Mongolian scenes where done very well, and looked very medieval. The costumes used where also fitting and made the TVB Serial look more realistic. Mongolians look like Mongolians. Gum people where differentiated from Han people. Rich where differentiated from poor ect... The music and theme songs used for this series was most appropriate. The "Jing Hong Ji", song made an emotional impact, particularly if you are a Han person. This series truly deserves a rating of 9 out of 10. What let this series down was the overuse of one particular tune, which got quite annoying towards the end. It was the tune they used to signal danger. Another factor was the over emphasis placed on the attempt to arrange a marriage between Kwok Jing and Mok Dim Chi. It was like flogging a dead horse. It was clear from the outset that this marriage will not be possible. Apart from that this is an all time classic TVB Serial. SCENES
