Q:  How long has Up Late been around?

A:  Up Late actually started in the Spring of '96.  A pilot was shot and then shown to the higher ups at WIUP-TV as a proposal of what we wanted to do with the show.  It featured guest Larry West, a theatre professor and professional actor/director.  If you've ever seen it, let us know so you can be shot.  We don't want people to know how truly painful it was to watch.

From there, the show was picked up and began in the Fall of '96 airing regular episodes on Thursday nights @ 10:30, following the news.

Q:  Has Jimmy always been the host of Up Late?

A:  Yup.  Why you might ask?  Well, because you don't find people like Jimmy Bradley all over the place.  With out that cat, I don't know who would be able to host this goddamn show and make it run as well as it does.

'Cept maybe a chimp in a suit....

Q:  Has Jen always been the cohost?

A:  That's a negative Sport.  In the original pilot, there was no cohost.  Just a solo Jimmy behind the desk.  Then, when the show was picked up the following Fall, Chris Reese stepped in and did his best Ed McMahon and sat in the side seat, making things move smoother than it was with Jimmy by himself.  Chris graduated, leaving the cohost spot open in the Fall of '97.  Auditions were held and the spot went to Joe Trubuko (sp?), who did his best Kevin Eubanks.  This Fall ('98), Joe had left and the spot once again opened up.  Auditions were held once again, but this time, the spot went to a female, Jen Shoberg.  Jen brings a new aspect to the side saddle and is doing a tremendous job.

Q:  I swear I remember a different band.  Am I batty?

A:  No, BOB hasn't always been the Up Late house band.  The pilot had two trumpet players and a drummer (I'm not kidding).  We wanted to expand on that, so we got a bigger band once the show got picked up.  In the Fall of '96, Disco Bitch and the Funk Machine became the house band.  But, when they started getting really good, and began receiving offers to play out more often, they couldn't continue to make it to the tapings.  So in the Spring of '97, DB and the FM left, and Sticks and Stones filled in for them.  With the Fall of '97 came new auditions for the band, and BOB got the spot.  They're now going on their second year with us, and we're ecstatic to have 'em back.

As for whether or not you are batty....I just don't know.

Q:  I have a funny idea for your show.  Would you be interested in hearing it?

A:  You're damn right we would.  We're always looking for new ideas and skits for the show.  If you think you have something funny you'd like to see on Up Late, drop me an email or leave a message on the WWWBoard, and we'll get in touch with you.

Q:  I want to work on the show.  Is that possible?

A:  You bet your sweet bippy it's possible.  Just get in contact with us (see above question), and we'll give you a call and put you to work.

Q:  I'm famous/in a band/can do something cool/whatever.  How would I go about becoming a guest on the show?

A:  Write us. We always need guests.  A talk show without guests is like a vibrator without batteries.

Q:  How the hell did you guys get a show at H.B. Culpeppers?

A:  Actually, as weird as it is...they contacted us.  It seems they thought it would be a fantastic idea to do the show from their establishment, and we jumped at the shot to do the show live in front of a real audience.  Truth is, the studio in Davis Hall really isn't large enough to hold an audience, and without an audience, we were limited to what we could do as a late night talk show.  So, we are incredibly thankful that Culpepper's will have us.

Q:  When and where do you tape the show, and when and where does it aire?

A:  Taping is done every Tuesday night @ 10 o'clock at H. B. Culpeppers. The link gives a map on how to get there.  It then aires on Thursday nights on WIUP-TV 16 at 10:30, following the news.

Q:  I am a beautiful 18-40+ year old woman who is just looking for a one night stand.  No one needs to know about it.  Can you help me.

A:  Sure.  Write us.

Q:  I have more questions.  Where do I get my answers?

A:  Simple.  Write us, or jump on over to the WWWBoard and ask your question there, and I'll answer it ASAP.
