Hey Happy,
Maybe you can help me out with some research. I am the mkt person at
Columbia TriStar Home Video and we are planning to release Forever Knight on
Video. Can you use your sources to rate the best shows and which ones fans
would like to see the most and why. We will probably release 3 to 6 episodes in
the first quarter of 97 and if they are successful will continue releasing
additional episodes. We of course have a big lead time and will need to decide
the episodes by the next week to 2 weeks. This is an opportunity for the fans
to participate and give us suggestions on what they would like to own. Please
put out the word and let me know. If there is anything else that the fans would
like included besides the episodes please add that too. Any interesting trivia
would also be valuable.
signing off for now.

At first, FORKNI-L list members wondered if this wasn't just a really sick
joke from some idiot who has nothing to do of his life. But I'm happy to
announce that this is NOT a hoax (yes, there is a God!).
This Avenger person phoned me on September 25 to give me all the necessary
details about the release of those episodes, and she kindly answered all my
questions. She told me her real name and gave me her office FAX and telephone
numbers as proof that this is no hoax.
So, don't let this golden opportunity slip away. Vote for your favorite episodes
now! If your browser doesn't support forms, you can e-mail your answers to me at
fref@bigfoot.com.
(Your name and e-mail address will not be revealed to anyone) Thanks!

Latest news...
- Late 1996:
-
- The release date, which was supposed to be sometime in March or
April 1997, has been postponed to June 1997.
- They are considering doing something like what the Highlander folks
did, so you may be able to buy whole seasons through a mail-order "subscription".
- No specific episodes have been chosen for individual release yet.
- March 13, 1997:
-
- Columbia Tristar Home Video is still pursuing the release, but
it is now more likely to occur in early to mid 1998. Sorry, that's all I'm
allowed to say for now. :(
- June 30, 1997:
-
- Got the following reply to a recent e-mail I sent to the Avenger:
"Yes we are still planning to go out with this Forever Knight in early to mid
1998. Thanks for keeping up the survey. It will be helpful in showing our
sales force the continued interest. I'll keep you posted when I have more
info."
- September 30, 1998:
-
- I finally got more news from the Avenger. Here's what she said:
"Forever Knight is still on the release planner as a To Be Scheduled, so it is not totally dead yet. If it gears up
again I will let you know right away."
So although things are going slow, there's still hope. Keep writing!!!
- May 21, 2001:
-
- I never got any more news about this, so I'm guessing that the tape release
will not happen. I don't think this is due to a lack of interest because I received a LOT
of e-mail about this. Oh well, I guess we'll have to watch our old tapes instead.
