TRANSCRIPT OF INTERVIEW W/ CHICO AND DELAMAR

(Delamar hands them lavender and gray whale stuffed toys)

Delamar: Well, we're honored to have you here with us.
Chico: I know. Did you see kung p'ano sila magtitigan while singing? (Polo starts to smile)
Delamar: I know. Akala ko maglilips to lips na sila. (Polo and Sunshine laugh)
Chico: Oh my goodness! No, they're kids.
Delamar: Oh yeah, yeah, they're kids. Now wait a minute, so bawal sa inyo ang kissing?
Shine: Bawal, siyempre.
Polo: Siyempre.
Delamar: Pero nand'on ba yung desire? (everyone laughs) O, never mind. Bata pa sila. Bata pa
sila.
Chico: Never mind. Masyado mo silang kino-corrupt.
Delamar: 'Yung movie niyo, you played young people...like high schoolers.
Shine: Yup.
Chico: Like in real life.
Delamar: Like in real life.
Shine: Yup.
Delamar: In the movie, you're tomboyish 'no? (asking Shine)
Shine: Not necessarily coz my character there is parang ano siya uhm, runner siya, so parang
athletic so parang boyish pero hindi naman siya tomboy kasi may boyfriend siya.
Delamar: So sporty spice lang, parang gan'on?
Shine: Sporty Spice. (smiles)
Chico: Pero si Polo, spoiled?
Polo: Hindi naman...
Chico: Di ba parang 'yung kung anong gusto mo, nakukuha mo.
Polo: Hindi naman. Hindi naman. Pero coñotic ako dito kumbaga (Delamar and Chico laugh at
the term) Parang medyo mayaman kami. Medyo mayaman. Eh ayaw sa kanya ng parents ko kasi
parang medyo, alam mo 'yon, parang mahirap ka gan'on.
Shine: Kumbaga hindi naman kami mahirap pero we belong to the C class. Hindi kami kasing
yaman. Kasi bading pa 'yung nagpalaki sa'kin tsaka sa parlor pa 'yung environment.
Polo: Parang wala siyang manners masyado.
Shine: Oo, wala akong breeding.
Chico: Ah...
Delamar: Ah, ok.
Chico: Kunyari, eksaktong-eksakto nung character. Hindi mo kilala si Polo as he is ha, 'yung d'on
lang sa movie na character, would fall in love with someone like that?
Shine: (pauses and looks up) Uhm, I guess so. (Polo looks down reflectively) Kasi based on the
character and based on the story (crowd cheers and Shine laughs a bit), kasi ang nangyari at
first, ang nangyari at first, eh di parang naging kami 'no tapos nagsplit kami kasi hindi niya 'ko
pinagtanggol sa parents but in the end, na-realize niya 'yung worth ko so pinagtanggol na rin
niya 'ko sa parents niya (Polo's looking at her, smiling)
Delamar: Eh sa totoong buhay, halimbawa hindi ka niya pinagtanggol... (Shine inturrupts)
Shine: Bye! (she teasingly utters)
Delamar: Teka, sandali, naging kayo ba? Naging kayo ba? Kayo ba?
Polo and Shine: Hindi.
Delamar: Naging kayo ba?
Polo and Shine: Hindi.
Delamar: Magiging kayo ba?
Polo: Sana! (everyone laughs and the audience cheer) Hindi... (laughing)
Chico: Kaya lang bata pa.
Polo: Bata pa.
Delamar: Oo, bata pa. I mean, later on, ikaw naman. Mga three years.
Delamar: (for Shine) Uh, if there was one thing that you could do for Polo, what would it be?
Shine: Siguro kung anong kailangan niya. Hangga't, what do you call this, hanggang sa
makakaya ko.
Chico: Hanggang maibibigay mo.
Shine: Hanggang maibibigay ko, gagawin ko.
Chico: Wow! (the audience go 'yihee!')
Delamar: Wow! Hindi pa sila niyan ah. (Polo smiles)
Chico: Hindi pa sila niyan. Friends pa lang. O itanong natin ngayon kay Polo, the same question.
Polo: Pagmamahal? Nax!....uh...(pauses) Meron akong dala rito eh. (He stands and reaches for
his right pocket) (Delamar and Chico ask him what it is and the fans cheer)
Shine: Full of surprises.
Chico: (still waiting for Polo to bring out the gift) Ah, tissue. (everyone laughs again)
Polo: Eto. Etong ring.
Delamar: Thoughtful naman pala eh.
Shine: Sobra. Sobrang thoughtful.
Chico: My goodness!
Polo: Ako na ang magsusuot.
Delamar: O sige. What is that?
Polo: (shows it to Delamar) Bee.
Chico: Oh, it's a bee.
Shine: Yeah, bee talaga siya (after she looks at the ring).
Chico: O, isusuot sa 'yo. Isusuot sa 'yo.
Polo: Kasi ano, kaya ito, kasi alam kong 'yan ang isusuot niya kaya pinartner ko na. (Shine
laughs). Hindi, hindi, loko lang. Ako na lang ang magsusuot sa kanya. (Shine extends her hand to
him and he puts the ring on)
Chico: Diyos ko parang engagement ring.
Delamar: Para kayong nagrerehearse.
Chico: Oo nga eh.
Shine: (after the ring has been put on) Thank you!
Chico: Yoohoo!
Delamar: Wala ka bang tatanungin sa kanya?
Polo: (faces Shine) Will you marry me? (everybody laughs)
Shine: (laughing) Batukan kita eh.
Delamar: They're rehearsing.
Chico: Oo nga eh.
Polo: Wala sana, sana, ah, hangga't suot-suot mo 'yan, maalala mo 'ko pag kunwari di ba,
kunwari...
Delamar: Kasi mukha kang bubuyog (the four of them laugh)
Polo: Hindi ah. Hindi. Wala, sana simple remembrance lang 'yan..(he keeps moving on his seat)
Chico: Polo, parang mahuhulog ka na (He readjusts and continues his wish)
Polo: Sana ingatan mo na lang, para di ba, maalala mo 'ko kahit papa'no. (fans shout, "kiss!)
Chico: O kiss daw. 'Yung wholesome ha.
Shine: Parati namang wholesome eh.
Chico: Yours is extra wholesome. Hindi kami ang humihingi niyan.
Delamar: Hindi kami ah. Baka magalit ang mga parents niyo.
Chico: Mabilis lang. Peck.
Delamar: Dali na.
Polo: Pinagpapawisan na 'ko dito (wipes his temple) (Shine laughs)
Chico: Sige na peck lang. Peck. (crowds cheer as Polo stands)
Delamar: Sa lips! Ah hindi ba puwede sa lips?
Shine: Hindi puwede eh.
(Polo kisses Sunshine on the cheek and she thanks him again for the ring. They invite the
audience to watch their movie)
